William Sims

William H. Sims, age 78, of Holland, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home.

Bill was born in Natchitoches, LA and graduated from Oak Grove High School in Oak Grove, LA in 1952. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. He worked for several years for General Electric in Holland retiring in 1990. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Sims in 1994.

He survived by his wife, Dollie Sims of Holland, his children, Beverly Hopkins, Robert Sims, and Charles Sims, Kim Sartini, Ernest and Estella Caudill, Dolly Olin, Johnny and Kathy Caudill, Audrey and Rich Mills; nineteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Jewel Broadway, Eunice Mc Causlin, John (Catherine) Sims, and Viola Simmons; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-7pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 501 East 24th Street in Holland. Rev. Bart Spencer will officiate.

Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to Lighthouse Baptist Church or Hospice of Holland.
