William (Bill) Hitchcock, surrounded by his loving family, passed from this life into Paradise on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. He was 81 years old.

Bill was one of ten children born to Leo and Helen (Walker) Hitchcock, raised in Allegan, MI, where he graduated high school in 1959. In late 1960, he met Patsy (Camp) and they were married on October 20, 1963. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. He worked in farming and truck driving before landing a successful career as a machinist with Prince Machine, Koning Machine, as well as GP Reeves in Holland. He also had a machine shop in his basement that allowed him to hone his craft even more. He shared that workshop with his sons and passed along some of his trade tricks. His favorite people called him Papa and he was so proud of each one. They each got their turn in Papa's workshop, one by one, with a hammer, nails and a block of wood.

He was a faithful member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ in Holland where he served as an elder and Bible class teacher, among other ministries. He was a humble, kind and thoughtful Christian man who loved his church family and truly loved the Lord.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Helen Hitchcock, siblings, Gerald, Don, Alice, Bob, Merle and Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Hitchcock; children, Terry Hitchcock of Grand Haven, MI, Kim Hitchcock of Florence, AL, Scott (Beth) Hitchcock of Gobles, MI, Gregg (Karen) Hitchcock of Holland, MI, Jason (Caroline) Hitchcock of Holland, MI; Grandchildren; Kaylee Hitchcock of Florence, AL, Emily (Luke) Christensen of Florence, AL, Jeremy (Emily) Hitchcock of Allendale, MI, Alison (Andrew) Santellan of Grand Haven, MI, Amanda (Daniel) VanDenBosch of Holland, MI, Andrew (Laura) Hitchcock of Paragould, AR, Ben Hitchcock of Holland, MI, Carrie (Russell) Aspinwall of St. Joseph, MI, Olivia Hitchcock and Anna Hitchcock of Holland, MI; Great-grandchildren; Eleanor, Genevieve, Elijah, Marigold, Jubilee, Benjamin, Callen, Justin, Eloise and Holiday, plus two more precious Great-grandchildren on the way.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Lakeshore Church of Christ on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
