Virgie Bird

Virgie Marie Bird, age 88, of Fennville died on Saturday July 31, 2010 she was a long time resident of Golden Orchards in Fennville.

Virgie was born the daughter of George and Maggie Hensley in Mountain Home, Arkansas January 15, 1922. She moved to Holland in 1953. Virgie married Obert Bird March 19, 1936. She worked at Holland Cotton Products for many years. She was a member of Gibson Christian Reformed Church.

Virgie was preceded in death by husband Obert Bird in 1984, sons Robert Bird 2003, Rex Bird 2009 and great grandson Robert De Boe 1990.

Virgie’s family includes: Children: Billy Bird, Linda Tummel-Stiltner, James and Rita Bird, Jerry and Pam Bird; she also raised two grandchildren Mark Bird and Christi De Boe; 20grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 7-9 P.M. Tuesday August 3, 2010 at The Downtown Chapel Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes 29 East 9th Street.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday August 4, 2010 at Gibson Christian Reformed Church.

Memorials may be made to the Gibson Christian Reformed Church.
