Vickie Lynn (Nyhof) Rich of Holland, Michigan passed away October 20, 2024 at the age of 68 after a 4-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born June 3,1956, to Julius Vernon (Juke) Nyhof and the former Helen Jean Brower, Vickie attended Holland Public Schools, graduating in 1974.

In 1975, at age 19, she married her high school boyfriend, Craig Rich and celebrated their 49th anniversary in 2024.

Vickie was known for her baking skills, her beautiful home, her love of sewing, and her Dutch heritage. She was a Dutch Dancer during Tulip Time for 46 years and sewed dozens of Dutch costumes for friends and family. She was an active member of Evergreen Commons and Christ Memorial Church. Despite her health issues, Vickie attended all of her granddaughter Charlotte’s dance performances throughout her illness.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Craig Rich; two daughters, Allison Elizabeth DeYoung (Michael) of Holland, and Catherine Elyse “Eddie” Rich of Berlin, Germany. Also surviving are brothers Scott and Kevin Nyhof and sister Janine (Nyhof) North as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents and older brother Kerry Nyhof.

Vickie was a long-time employee of Donnelly Mirrors (later Magna), followed by stints at Perrigo and GrayCor Corporation.

Special thanks to Faith Hospice as well as the elders and deacons at Christ Memorial Church for their support in the final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA).

A celebration of life will be scheduled soon. Please check back later for more information.
