Verne Fuder

Verne Eugene Fuder, age 87, of Holland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Holland, Verne was a Holland High school graduate, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a graduate of Hope College. He retired from USF Holland, Inc. after 39 years of dedicated service as Claims Manager. Verne began his life in Christ when he was 36 years of age. He enjoyed memorizing Scripture, sharing the Word of God, and he enjoyed being outdoors and working in the yard. Verne was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Betty (Alan) Fuder and brother-in-law, Gordon (Marjorie) Barendse.

Dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Verne is survived by his wife, Kathleen Joy of 61 years; 3 children, Dr. John (Nellie) Fuder of Chicago, Patti Fuder of Holland, and David (Robyn) Fuder of Chicago; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Jaakan) Thompson, Jeremy, Joshua, Anna, and Audrey Fuder; 1 great-granddaughter, Jonelle Thompson. Also surviving are brothers and sister, Alan Fuder, Marjorie Barendse, and Dr. Edwin (Joan) Fuder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Roger (Marsha) Kempers, Dr. David (Marjory) Kempers, and Margie and Dr. Ronald Wiegerink; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Home, 188 W. 32nd St. in Holland. Family burial will take place at Graafschap Cemetery.
