Venita “Sue” Botbyl, age 80, of Holland, MI, formerly New Albany, MS, went peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her family on December 4, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James Lee Botbyl; and all of her brothers and sister.

Sue was born on August 10, 1944, in New Albany, Mississippi to the late Edgar and Viola Grisham. She later moved to Holland, Michigan where she started her family and worked at Brooks Beverage. Sue spent many years as a volunteer for Hospice in both Michigan and Mississippi. She had a passion for making jewelry, puzzles, word searches, and ice cream. She was a member of Keownville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Ken Vanden Berg, Sherri and Tom Meeuwsen; grandchildren, Staci and Ryan Visser, Dana and Brett Lucas; great-grandchildren, Carley Visser, Thomas Visser, Jaxson Visser, Lucy Visser, Adalyn Lucas, and Isla Lucas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 13, at Keownville Baptist Church in New Albany, Mississippi, immediately followed by an 11:00 am funeral service with the Rev. Jerry Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Keownville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
