Tony A. Holmes was born on October 20, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Milton and Leona Holmes.

Tony was educated by the Chicago public school system and also attended and graduated from Wabbaseka highschool in Wabbaseka , Arkansas. He loved playing basketball during his high school years, and as he progressed in life he became an affluent fisherman. In 1985 Tony was United in Holy Matrimony to Rochelle Mc Donald. Following several years of living in ElmhurstIllinois, Tony decided to move his family to Holland, Michigan were he and his wife grew in Christ. After being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, Tony submitted his life to community outreach. He loved serving and helping within his community and abroad. In addition to community outreach Tony also had a flare for business, establishing two businesses. In 1996 Tony and his wife opened a clothing store on Ottawa beach roadcalled Ellehcor’s. Also, in 2008 he was instrumental in establishing the now beloved Daddio’s Carry Out. The Restaurant a staple in the Holland community where he obtained the title of “The Grill Master”. Tony became the stag of the community looking after the fatherless, as well as, the fallen in sprit.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Milton Holmes, his father in law, Singleton Mc Donald Jr, his mother in law, Lula Mea Mc Donald, his brother, Dewayne Holmes, his brothers in-law, Anthony Terrell Mc Donald, Laydell Payton, and John Ruff.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his beloved wife, Rochelle Holmes; his mother, Leona Holmes, Five Children, Tony, Taniesha, Chiqueta, Jenice, and Brandon. Eleven grandchildren, and a special daughter/granddaughter. Four brothers, Robert King (Olivia), Reginald Holmes, Milton Holmes Jr. , Kenneth Holmes. Six sisters, Eula Payton, Mary Jones, Patricia Butler (David Butler), Ruth Holmes, Jackie Holmes, Bernadette Reynolds (Raymond Reynold), Natalie Holmes. Four sisters in-law, Dorothy Thompson (James), Patricia Taylor Ruff, Kristen Brown (Garrett) and Janice Mc Donald with whom he shared a loving, and unique bond. Brothers in-law, Albert Lee Taylor, Singleton Mc Donald (Rose) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, along, with his Christian parents, Joe and Geraldine Reed, Christian brothers, sisters and friends.

In celebrating the life of Tony Holmes there will be a Community Fish Fry held at Daddio’s on Friday May 12, 2023 from 1pm until 7pm.
