Theresa “Trixie” Shumaker, age 93, of Holland, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland.

Theresa was born in Vienna, Austria and became a United States Citizen on June 14, 1954. She was a Charter Member of Rose Park Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. She was a cook for several years for West Ottawa Public Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Shumaker on April 10, 2012

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Dawn Shumaker of Holland and Vernon and Louise Shumaker of Holland; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Troy and Jodi Shumaker (Austin) of Holland, Lecia and Troy Snyder (Jeshaiah, Tirzah, and Moriah) of Wisconsin, Bart and Gayle Shumaker (Teresa and Benjamin) of Holland, and Kimberly and Donald Mulder (Jessie and Mary) of Hamilton; her brothers, Charles Windisch and John Windisch; and her sister, Mary Stoel all of Holland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Rose Park Reformed Church, 14241 Rose Park Dr., with the Rev. Dave Van Opstall officiating.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Dykstra Funeral Homes, Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland.

Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland or Resthaven Care Center.
