Life Story / Obituary

Terry Reinink passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the age of 85.

He was born and raised in Holland and was married to Jan for 63 years. Terry and Jan raised their four sons and Terry was an incredible and caring father. He worked at Parke Davis for over 32 years. He loved woodworking, could fix anything and was always willing to help anyone in need. Terry was a passionate Hope College basketball fan and never missed attending any event for his kids, grandkids or great grandkids. He loved the many years he and Jan spent up north at Loon Lake. He also enjoyed his years as a Scoutmaster for Troop 157 and was such a great mentor. He made countless new friends working on the deconstruction crew for Habitat for Humanity Restore and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2019. He also spent over 30 years serving on the Ottawa County Fair Board.

Terry was a quiet, kind, generous and loving man with a humble demeanor. Nothing was more important to him than his family. He was brutally honest, but also had a great sense of humor. He was so loved and will be missed by his family and many wonderful friends.

Terry is survived by his sons Tim (Cindy) Reinink, Jeff (Wendy) Reinink, daughter-in-laws Sally Reinink and Christal Reinink, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also, his sisters Nancy (Roger) Bleeker, Marilyn (Larry) Sebring and Elaine (Mike) Seymour. Sister-in-law Loie (Jerry) Becksford and brother-in-law Bill Ten Have. Also several very special nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by the love of his life Jan, sons Rod Reinink and Tom Reinink, his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

A memorial service will be 11 am Friday (February 9) at Calvary on 8th, 995 East 8th Street. Livestream link: https://boxcast.tv/view/reinink-funeral-wnakfkefmfdwcbz7qvhc.
