Sue Weatherwax, age 96, of Holland, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Holland Hospital. Sue was born on November 14, 1918, to Henry and Jenny Grissen. After graduating from Holland High School, Sue worked at a Holland candy company, where she met her husband of over 60 years, Bill Weatherwax. Sue always enjoyed being wherever she was, and she especially enjoyed reading, shopping with her sister, playing cards, and discussing politics with her friends. She made great banana bread, loaves of which were shared with many. Sue attended Rose Park Reformed Church for many years, and remained always comforted by her faith. Sue was so grateful to the staff at Resthaven Maple Woods, who truly treated her like family. She knew each one by name and appreciated their many kindnesses. She also appreciated the constant attention of her children, who dropped by often and always cherished her within the family circle.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2002.

She is survived by her children, Sharon and Zeke Zimmer of Holland, Tom and Pat Weatherwax of Holland, Diane and Robert Parsons of Traverse City, and Laurie and Brian Kent of Holland;

grandchildren, Dave and Katie Zimmer, Don Zimmer, Nancy and Peter Lemay, Brian and Beth Weatherwax, Kevin and Brittney Weatherwax, Erik and Sasha Cornellier, and Erica and Josh Satkey; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, John Grissen of Florida; sister-in-law, Lillian Grissen of Grand Rapids; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Memorial services will be 11 am Wednesday, July 8 at Rose Park Reformed Church, 14241 Rose Park Drive, with Rev. David Van Opstall officiating.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Park Reformed Church Memorial Fund.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
