Stuart Peter Visser

Stu was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 16, 1934. He left us Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Stu was a 1952 graduate of Holland High School. He attended Hope College before entering the Navy, where he was an Electronic Specialist on the LORAC 1 Team. Stu owned and operated Visser TV for 28 years. After that, he served as Park Township Supervisor for 22 years. He also served as Ottawa County Commissioner for 6 years. Stu was a member of First Reformed Church in Holland where he served as an Elder. He served for many years as Vice President of the Holland Classis of the Reformed Church of America. Stu was a member of Evergreen Commons where he designed and crafted many beautiful items in the wood shop. He also made many amazing friends there.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of 63 years. Two daughters: Cynthia Lynn (Visser) and Barry Neal, Susan Ann (Visser) and Ross Barkel. One son: Michael Stuart and Roxann Visser. Four grandchildren: Madison Elizabeth (Neal) and Michael Cota, Pierce B Neal, Nicolaas Michael Visser and Isaak Timothy Visser. One great-grandchild: Everett Michael Cota. Sisters In-Law: Joyce and Fred Lubben, Julie VanNuil, Vicki and Robert Dorn. Brother In-Law: Ron and Alice Prins. Two of the best friends anyone could ask for: Kirk (Portia) Briggs and William (and Peggy) Klungle.

A funeral service will be held at Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave, Holland, MI 49424, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 1:00pm. A private/family graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral service.
