Life Story / Obituary

Print

Steve Bredeweg, age 64, of Holland passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2022 and was welcomed into the joy of Heaven.

Steve graduated from Hope College and was a member of Park CRC. He was an instructor/coach at the community pool for 35 years where he caught everyone’s attention with his shrill whistle. He also officiated swim meets. Steve was more recently employed at Magna Donnelly. He enjoyed fishing with his buddies and would often wear a t-shirt that said “I LOVE when MY WIFE lets me go fishing”. Steve had a great sense of humor and always had a pun to throw out. He adored his 2 granddaughters who always made him laugh. Steve’s favorite music was Rock and Roll, and he enjoyed listening to his vinyl records on his turntable.

He is survived by his wife Becky of 38 years and daughter: Kate and Mason Estlund and granddaughters Willa and Bridget Estlund; parents: Edwin and Marilyn Bredeweg; sisters: Laurie and Steve Dagro and Julie and Randy Schaeffer; brother: Jim Bredeweg; sister-in-laws: Marcia Lemson, Julie Lemson and Janet Lemson; brother-in-law: Jim and Linda Lemson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Park CRC, 1496 West 32nd Street in Holland. Pastor Dan Steen will be officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, September 28 at Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to My Brothers/Sisters House of Holland. To view service, please click HERE
