Shirley Anne Kammeraad, age 94, of Holland died August 6, 2018 at Resthaven Care Center.

Shirley was a charter member of Christ Memorial Church where she served in the choir. She graduated from Hope College with a teaching degree. Because Shirley adored children her dream in life was to have a lovely family. She was an accomplished pianist, a Campfire Girls leader and one who loved to travel. The most memorable trip was a five week camping trip across the United States visiting many national parks going all the way to California and through Canada. Shirley was a dedicated homemaker and was self-taught on nutrition. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Kammeraad in 2007.

She is survived by her children: Judith Kammeraad and Jeff Long of Danville, CA and Pamela and Ed Prorok of Lakeside, AZ; grandchildren: Joshua, Rio and Zachary Prorok; 2 great grandchildren; brother: Douglas Lemmen of Kalamazoo; brother and sisters-in-law: Jack and Grace Kammeraad of Dansville, MI, Eleanor Johnson of Holland; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Chapel at Christ Memorial, 595 Graafschap Road in Holland. Rev. John Kleinheksel will be officiating. Inurnment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
