Sandra Riggs

Sandra Kay Riggs, age 64, of Holland passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Holland to Ronald and Leona (Harmsen) Kalmink on July 18, 1957. Sandy worked as a paralegal in Holland for many years. She was a truly ravenous reader with a love for thrifting and collecting antiques, a skilled knitter, and above all — a dedicated and selfless family woman. Sandy was an exceptionally positive person, always wanting to bring joy and support to those around her. She took time to relax by walking her beloved dog, Carley, watching all of the cooking shows, and of course, cheering on the Detroit Lions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Larry Kalmink in 2008.

She is survived by her husband, Brinton Riggs III, and children: Andrew (Jade) Kooistra of Hudsonville Laura Kooistra (Pedro Zuniga) of Holland Lynlee Kooistra (Will Rosel) of Holland Brinton “LB” Riggs IV of Holland Austin Riggs of Branch, MI Grandchildren: Carter Perez Whitney Gebhart Justin Zuniga Korbin Garcia Andres Zuniga Benny Zuniga Brothers: Randy (Shannon) Kalmink of Zeeland Mike (Jen) Kalmink of Hastings Sister-in-law: Jane (Jim) Dunkerton of Allegan Special dog: Carley

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, February 28, 2022 at Dykstra Funeral Homes - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland. Reverend David Kingma will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:30pm - 3:00pm on Monday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Herrick District Library in Holland, or the Harbor Humane Society in West Olive.
