Ruth Postma

Ruth Postma, 85, of Holland, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Holland Hospital.

Born in South Holland, Ill. she graduated from Mc Bain High School in Mc Bain, and attended Calvin College. She taught elementary school in South Blendon School and substitute taught in West Ottawa Public Schools. She was a member of Beechwood Church.

Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Chester Postma of Holland; her children, Charles and Pat Postma of Port Clinton, Ohio, Nelleatha and Paul Triesenberg of Macon, Ga., Evelyn and Randall DeGraaf of Holland, and Linda and James Allen of Holland; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Harriet Guikema-Stolk of Wyoming; several nieces and nephews. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Beechwood Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road, with the Revs. James Lankheet, Steve Vander Molen, and Charles Doornbos officiating. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland or International Aid.
