Ruth L. Cook, age 47, of Holland died unexpectedly at her home, Saturday, December 17, 2011.

A graduate of Holland Christian High School and University of Davenport, Ruth was employed by JCI for over 29 years most recently in the Finance Training Administrative Department.

She was a member of East Saugatuck C.R.C. where she served on the Worship planning team, Praise Team, helped with the monthly news letter, former G.E.M.S. leader and served on the National Executive Board of G.E.M.S. She was also a member of B.S.F., a bible fellowship group.

Ruth had many hobbies which included bike riding, hiking and playing the piano. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Ruth took at least two trips outside our country each year! Some of those countries were Turkey and the Galapagos Islands.

Highly respected at work and with all that knew her, Ruth could be described as being strong willed. Along with that came strong moral values, strong religious convictions and love for her family that can never be replaced.

Ruth will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her parents, Dale and Betty Cook of Holland, brothers and sister, Randy (Dawn ) Cook of Holland, Larry Cook of Allegan, Kathy (Todd) Eastman of Hamilton, grandmother, Wilma Smith of Holland, nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Kyle) Simkins, Nicholas (Jenny) Cook, Jessica (Matt) Ter Haar, Alexander Eastman and Jennifer Eastman as well as 5 great nieces and nephews and uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 am at East Saugatuck C.R.C, 3815 56th St. with Rev. Gary Luurtsema officiating. Burial will be in East Saugatuck Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd.St. Holland.
