Roy Keech (2/23/1936 – 7/21/2023)

Roy was a servant leader who was involved in his church (Christ Memorial), Holland Symphony Orchestra, Kando, Wings of Mercy, and American Legion Band. Roy was a generous man of faith and integrity, a skilled french horn player, a lover of Lake Michigan, landscaping, and Peanut Pirates from Captain Sundae. He was an adventurer who learned to wind surf and downhill ski in his fifties, always living life to the fullest.

Roy retired from Herman Miller and served many roles throughout his 25-year tenure, including CFO, although he preferred his business cards say Senior Vice President of Big Deals. He was instrumental in the company going public, the creation of Office Pavilion, and relationship building with designers and the dealer network.

Preceeded in death by parents Richard and Ruth (Jamieson) Keech, twin Ray and his wife Wanda Keech, brother-in-law Warren Plummer, brother-in-law Richard Brockmeier, and sister-in-law Sandra Keech.

Survived by numerous family members who loved him dearly, including wife of 65 years Mary (Brockmeier) Keech, children Randy (Kathie) Keech of Tampa, Florida, and Kevin (Nan) Keech of Holland, grandchildren Paige (Cam) Holding of San Diego, California, and Courtney (Jake) Bagley of Grand Rapids, siblings Roger (Mary Lou) Keech, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Marlene Plummer of Caledonia, Sharon Keech of Bay City, sister-in-law Helen Brockmeier, and many nieces and nephews.

Roy is greatly missed here on Earth but welcomed home into Heaven with open arms.

The family held a private burial earlier, and a public Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, in the Chapel at Christ Memorial Church at 10:00 am (use entrance D or E).

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or Christ Memorial Church Memorial Fund.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
