ROXANNE DE ROO

8/21/1955 - 2/16/2018

Roxanne de Roo valiantly ended her decade-long battle with early-onset Alzheimer's on Friday, February 16th, 2018, surrounded by the people who loved her most – her husband and three children. Roxanne was born in Holland, Michigan, one of six children. She met the love of her life, Mark, as a bank teller in Holland. Nine days later they were engaged and five months later they were wed. They spent 41 wonderful years together. Roxanne’s creative talents knew no end – refinishing furniture, painting houses, collecting antiques, gardening, and entertaining. Though passionate about all things domestic, nothing brought her more joy in life than to cultivate her faith through God’s Word, as well as loving and serving her family. Those carrying on her legacy include her husband, Mark; daughter, Ingrid Addison and her husband, Josh, of Richmond, Virginia; son, Taylor and his wife, Abby (Murphy, Harry, Rudy, and Goldie) of Zeeland; daughter, Hillary Bleckley and her husband Andrew (Tatum and Hans) of Richmond, Virginia. She is survived by brother, Greg Laarman and his wife Betty; brother, Scott Laarman and his wife Marcia; sister, Linda and her husband Joe Dahm; sister, Lori and her husband Rick Van Wyk; brother, Clark Laarman and his wife Kim.

The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, February 20th from 4:30 - 7:30pm at The Good Earth Cafe in Holland, Michigan. We will celebrate her life with a service scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st at 10:00am at Pillar Church. Bright color attire is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Resthaven Care Community (attn: Boersma Cottage) or Hospice of Holland. The family extends immense gratitude for the love and care from the nurses and caregivers of Boersma Cottage and Hospice of Holland.
