Ronald Jay Schaddelee, 83, of Holland, MI, died peacefully Sunday March 14, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Ron was born in 1937 to parents Henrietta and Richard Schaddelee of Holland, Michigan. He served in the Armed Forces and in the National Guard, but was most known as a skilled machinist and talented musician.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Maria (Josie) Schaddelee,

He is survived by his daughter, Maria de Leon; son: Jim (Angela) Schaddelee; son: Ronald Schaddelee Jr. and Teresa Hubbell; and Marcos (Moema) De Carvalho; grandchildren: Alyssa, Jacob, JC Cech, Chyna, Evan, Alissa, Summer, Casper, Baruch and Lane; great grandchildren Alexander, Ava, and Lucas.

Many would say Ron was a one of a kind. Ron frequented his favorite restaurants finding joy in greeting staff and owners by name. Ron had a life rich in music, playing in bands since his early days, and he delighted in a variety of music. Ron frequented playing at Respite Coffee shoppe in Douglas, and What Not Inn in Fennville. Ron played in a band called the Silvertones and played for a variety of occasions including Marggie’s annual donut celebration. Joy and shenanigans would fill the room when Ron and his gang of friends gather to play music.

Ron had a natural curiosity to know people, share stories, laugh or a share song. He asked many of you how to get to Zeeland Lake. Ron’s sense of humor continued through to his final day, joking and singing to his nurses.

Many recognized Ron around town driving in his green MG convertible. His ingenuity kept his little car running through the streets of Holland for many years.

When you think of Ron think fondly of the joy he shared and smile.
