Ronald “Ron” Lee Witteveen, age 83, of Holland, went to be with his Savior on January 1st, 2026. He was born on July 3rd, 1942, the eldest son of Jacob and Gertrude (VanBeek) Witteveen and the second of five children. The Witteveen family attended Harderwyk CRC, and he met Rita Mulder in youth group. Ron and Rita were married on August 23, 1963 and were married for over 60 years. Ron was a life-long resident of Holland and a longtime member of Fellowship Reformed Church. He served his country for four years in the US Air Force in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Ron loved puttering in the barn, working on cars, fishing, and bike-riding. Hardly a day went by without a trip to Lake Michigan. He was a long-time employee of PAR Molds. Described as a kind and gentle man, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was also an animal lover, especially of dogs. His quiet kindness will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Gert, brother, Terry, and granddaughter, Katelyn. He leaves behind his wife, Rita, and his dog, Sophie; children, Kris (Peggy) Witteveen of Plainwell; Heather (Dave) DeBoer of Burnips; grandchildren, Katie, John, Luke, Em, and Sammi (Thomas).

The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 9, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 11:00am, at Fellowship Reformed Church, 2165 West Lakewood Blvd, Holland. Visiting is also one hour prior to the service at the church. Reverend Nate Schipper presiding. Interment in Lakeshore Cemetery.
