Life Story / Obituary

Rog Doolittle left this earth November 23, 2017.

He was known by his quick wit and dry humor.

Upon graduation from Holland High School he joined the U.S.Army and was sent to Pennsylvania to work in the Missile Program.

He was a salesman by trade and began in Sporting Goods and then in Appliances at the Sears store, working up to assistant manager.

From there he joined as Co-Partner Beckman and Hulst Appliances Inc. They never changed the name because what Retail business wants to be called Beckman and Hulst Doolittle?

From there he helped a friend begin the Edmar Manufacturing Co.

He was a lifelong member of Central Park Church. Gratefully acknowledging God’s Amazing Grace he served in many ways but especially enjoyed working with the youth. He taught them in Sunday School, coached them in Softball, joined them in several Mission Trips.

Rog loved recreational sports with friends, from basketball, softball,

bowling, hunting and golf. The only one that threw him was fishing!

He was preceded in death by his brother Max and sister-in-law,- Elaine Doolittle and also sister-in-law, Nancy Doolittle

He will be greatly missed by his wife Pat, his children Liz (Kevin) Schreur, Matt (Kirsen) Doolittle, Mike Doolittle, nine grandchildren, his brother Dan (Betty)Doolittle,

A Celebration of Life of Rogers' Life will be Monday, November 27 at Central Park Church,614 Myrtle Ave with Reverend Kevin Kleinheksel officiating.

Friends may greet the family Monday 10:00AM - 11:00AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers gifts may be given to Hospice of Holland.
