Robert Lanting Sr.

Robert J. Lanting Sr., 92, of Holland, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006. Born in Grand Rapids, he was a graduate of Holland High School and Davenport Institute. Early in his life, he was employed by Monarch Foods and Swift & Co. He later opened Superior Meat and Provisions Co. in Muskegon. He was also employed by Plumb Super Markets and Russ' restaurants. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ruth, in 1990, and his wife, Virginia Wyckoff, in 2000. He is survived by his son, Robert Jr. and Sue Lanting of Colorado Springs; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Freedom Village at a later date.
