Robert (Bob) A. King III

Bob, aged 85, passed quietly on Sunday, February 23rd. Bob was born on October 6th, 1934 in Kings Mills, Ohio. He moved to Holland when he married Sally (1940-1995), his wife of 35 years.

Bob was a loving father, a devoted husband, a kind friend and the consummate professional in the workplace.

As a father, Bob was always available to enthusiastically encourage his kids with their hobbies and work. He took great pleasure in researching all things automotive and mechanical, and loved keeping his vehicles in tip top shape. If you saw a “RAK” license plate you knew that was Bob!

Bob worked for Hayworth and then took a position at Trendway as a customer service manager, until his retirement in 2000.

Bob loved boating and could be found taking his friends and family out on The Once A Knight to Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan.

Bob will be remembered most for his kind, loving ways, his great intelligence and his quick sense of humor. He always thought of others first and was a thoughtful listener.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Sally, and is survived by his daughter Peggy King Hoover, and his son, Bob King IV. He is also survived by his nieces, Vickie Visser and Amanda Childers, and granddaughters Lydia, Alexandra and Natasha Joukowsky.

A memorial service will be 2 pm Thursday (February 27) at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue. A memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is in Lakewood Cemetery.
