Robert Keith Emerson, age 79 of Holland (formerly Northville) peacefully passed away on November 24, 2021.

Born in Detroit to Robert and Florence (Retich) Emerson, Bob graduated from Cooley High School Detroit. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam, during the Tet Offensive. Bob went on to earn his Master’s degree and teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University. It was there that he met his future wife Pamela Oleksiak. As a teacher at Novi High School for 30 years, Bob influenced many students. The two loved to travel throughout the US and overseas. Every summer they traveled to Downeast Maine where they enjoyed great friendships with their neighbors. He had a love for playing golf and hockey and shared many friendships over the years. As a big UofM Football fan, he tailgated with many family members and friends. He will be missed by his many cousins and friends who were special to him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pam; sister-in-law; Meg Oleksiak; aunt, Kathy Retich; along with many cousins.

A mass will take place at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (480 152nd Ave, Holland, MI) on December 2nd at 9:00am with a time of fellowship to follow from 9:30am -10:30am.

For family and friends on the Eastside, a memorial service will take place at Janowiak Funeral Home in Ypsilanti in May. Please check back later for the date and time.
