Robert W. Hartman, age 67 of West Olive, MI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on May 10, 2010.
Robert was born the son of Arthur and Ruth Hartman in South Haven, Michigan June 23, 1942. He was a graduate of South Haven High School 1960, and Western Michigan University with a B.S. in Engineering in 1965. Bob worked for Dow Chemical from 1968-1972, and for John Thomas Batts from 1972 to 1995. In his retirement years he spent his summers hunting prairie dogs in Hermosa, South Dakota at the Herb Kaiser Family Ranch. Bob was a Life member of the NRA, Varmint Hunters Association, Life member of the Tulip City Rod and Gun Club, and was the 1972 Jack Pine National Enduro Grand Champion. Bob was an avid reader and WWII Historian.
His family includes: wife Susan; son James Robert and Christine Hartman of Oregon, daughter Carrie and John Myrand of Oregon; step children: Chris and Tonya Eaton, Craig and Samantha Eaton, Carey and Julie Eaton, Pamela Johnson, Amanda and Sean Campbell, and Brian McCadie;18 grandchildren Katie, Tyler, Paige, Kyle, Anna, Nick, Chase, Tristen, Taylor, Cordell, Alex, Sara, Brett, Emily, Alyssa, Sabrina, Brendan, and Cole; brothers Arthur and Pat Hartman, Dr. George and Linda Hartman; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many treasured friends.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Holland.
