Ray was born in Chicago, IL to Raymond Julius & Frieda Eggert on February 18, 1936. He worked as a carpenter, home builder, and developer. He enjoyed many activities such as hockey, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, golf and pickle ball, but he loved time with family and friends more than anything. He touched the lives of many people throughout his life and was a great role model with his hard work ethic and his willingness to always lend a helping hand.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Julius & Frieda Eggert; daughter, Jan (Ray) Novak; granddaughter, Isabelle Eggert; brothers Len (June) & Gene Eggert, and sister Sue (Ed) Yore.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and a to be determined location, most likely this summer.
