Patrick Joseph Dunn, 92, of Stanwood, Michigan, passed away on January 2, 2025.
Patrick was born on June 5, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Dr. Cornelius Emery Dunn and Margaret
(Kutchey) Dunn. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in English.
while on a track scholarship. Patrick served in the Army during the Korean War as a cryptographer.
on Eniwetak Island in the South Pacific. On September 21, 1957, Patrick married the love of his life,
Jean (Moro) Dunn. Their marital bliss lasted 60 years until her passing on November 22, 2017.
Patrick dedicated 32 years of his career to Republic Steel. In retirement, Patrick and Jean resided in
Canadian Lakes, Michigan, where he and Jean formed many meaningful friendships. Patrick loved
the performing arts and was an active member of the theater group, “The Canadian Lakes Players,”
where he “treaded the boards” in several productions. Patrick was known for his quick wit, charm,
hospitality and for his love for Jean and his children. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife Jean,
son Terry, his parents, and his three siblings. He is lovingly remembered by his children:
Neil (Michele) Dunn; Amy (Dan) Jennings; Dan (Kris) Dunn; PJ (Renee) Dunn; Joe (Jessica) Dunn; his
12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming months.
