Patricia Soelch Hutson McIntyre died at home on Monday, August 8 following a long, brave battle against heart disease. She was 86.

Patricia was born on March 23rd 1930 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Ruby Soelch. She attended the University of Wisconsin where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority and studied History, English and Education – subjects that would inspire her for the rest of her life. After graduation Patricia worked as a teacher before joining her husband in the business world. She was a P.E.O. member, President of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Symphony Guild (1985-87), and received the Iowa Governor’s Volunteer Award.

Patricia was the essence of elegance, style, kindness and grace. She was an avid supporter of the arts, and had a great love of reading and needlework. She was also an avid anglophile. She was predeceased by husbands, Charles H. Hutson and Charles McIntyre, and is survived by her beloved daughters, Mari Moon, Julie Hutson, M.D. and Barbara Gloer; son-in-law David Gloer; stepchildren, Gail, Glen and Dawn McIntyre; adored grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Gloer; dear nephews and nieces, George and Sue Haynes, Laura and Gary Siegman.

Private services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holland Hospice, or Spectrum Health of Grand Rapids Michigan, Congestive Heart Failure Services Fund in the name of Patricia McIntyre.
