Pamela Ann Kapenga (Miller) went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 22nd. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Pam was known for her love and deep faith in the Lord and her love for others. Her friendly personality and her cheerful smile had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel loved.

Pam was one of five siblings and the daughter of late H. Jack and the late Phyllis Miller. She grew up in Allegan, MI in close proximity to many close cousins and relatives. She fell in love and married the love of her life, Mark Kapenga on April 3, 1981. Mark and Pam have three grown children (Trisha, Tarah and Trent) that they raised in Holland. Pam was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Holland where she faithfully attended.

Pam and Mark were always busy doing fun things together. Whether it was going to their favorite vacation spot (Gatlinburg, TN), visiting Mackinaw Island, sitting by Lake Michigan, or just going for drives, they genuinely enjoyed spending time together. Mark and Pam taught their children to always love and honor God.

Pam was the type of mom who jumped the waves with her kids, built snow forts, and taught them and their friends the fine art of TP-ing. As her kids became adults she continued to be involved in their lives and loved their spouses just like her own children. What Pam seemed to love the most though was being a Nana to 10 grandkids who adored her. She celebrated each of their individual personalities and truly loved them for who they are.

Not only did Pam raise 3 of her own children, she ran an in home daycare. Throughout her many years of opening up her home she invested in over 30 children. The daycare kids were treated with the same love as her own children. She had a very nurturing side that made all parents know their children were loved and safe. She was especially close to Kellen, Travis, Max and Mickey Voss whom she nannied in their home.

After years of daycare Pam found her “dream job” of working at downtown Holland store The Apathocary Gift Shop. There she made great friends in her coworkers and bosses. She connected with customers and spent most of her paychecks on their beautiful jewelry and purses.

Pam is proceeded in death by her parents the H. Jack and Phyllis Miller, brother in law Steven Chambers and brother in law Dean Kapenga. She leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years Mark Kapenga, her children Trisha & Steve Hop, Tarah & Tyler DeLaLuz, Trent & Misty Kapenga, Grandchildren; Zayleigh, Zuree, Zeeken, Zion, Amaya, Gianna, Damian, Raegan, Ava and Sadie, siblings and their spouses, many nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends.

Pam wanted everyone she knew to know the Lord and accept Him into their lives. Though we will all deeply miss Pam, we celebrate that she has finished the race and is now with her Lord Jesus Christ.
