Oscar Saldivar

Oscar Y. Saldivar age 79 of Holland died unexpectedly Monday June 10, 2013 at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids, Mi.

Oscar was born in Santa Maria, Texas and moved to the Holland area in 1950. He was formerly employed by Heinz and Roamers Yachts. In 1994 he retired after working 26 years for Holland Community Hospital. He was a long time member of St. Francis de Sales Church where he ushered for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Oscar was preceded in death by a son Oscar Jr. in 1987.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Josefina and children; Luis (Kristi) Saldivar of Holland, Ramiro (Beth) Saldivar of Texas, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Frank (Julia) Rodriguez of Calif. Mauro Saldivar of Middleville, brothers and sisters in law, Fermin (Shirley) Lopez of Lansing, Adela Pena of Holland, Maria Tapia of Holland, Flora Lopez of Holland, Elida Salvidar of Lowell, Mi. as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Christian Mass will be held Monday 11:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 195 West 13th St. with Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Sunday 6 -8 PM at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St. Holland.Wake prayers are at 7:00PM.
