Norberto Vargas

On Wednesday April 21, 2021, Norberto Vargas, loving husband of Alicia Vargas, passed on at the age of 64.

Mr. Vargas was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico on June 6, 1956 to Donaciano Tobias and Roberta Morin. Norberto grew up in Mexico and at the age of 18 he migrated to the United States. In 1998 Mr. Vargas and his entire family arrived in Holland, Michigan and called it home. He was a man of many hobbies that included vegetable gardening, cooking on the grill, dancing, as well as, playing volleyball, baseball and horseback riding. Norberto was a hands on, do it yourself man. He tackled carpentry, plumbing and house projects on his own. Mr. Vargas was known for his easy smile, great sense of humor and love for people. He was constantly putting others before himself. Norberto was always there to help his family and friends. He truly loved his grandchildren and spending time playing with them was always his priority. Mr. Vargas was a long time member of La Roca Church at Central Wesleyan and he truly loved the Lord. He retired from West Michigan Uniform in June of 2020. His family will always remember the great examples that he set for them and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Alicia Vargas; children, Mauricio Vargas, Jaime (Alma) Vargas, Veronica Vargas (Paco Araujo), Jorge Vargas (Hilda De La Rosa), Maria Cristina Vargas (Humberto Sanchez), Diana (Eliud) De La Rosa, Maria Isabel Vargas, Norberto Vargas Jr., Marco Antonio Vargas, Victor Manuel Vargas; grandchildren, Atziri Perez, Liliana Perez, Shari Perez, Jared Perez, Mauricio Vargas Jr., Yadhira Vargas, Maritza Ballinas, Zoe Sanchez, Mateo Sanchez, Jaime Vargas Jr., Vanessa Vargas, Sonia Vargas, Andre Camilo Hinojosa, Alyanna Isabel Hinojosa, Mayte De La Rosa, Gian Luca De La Rosa, Iker De La Rosa, Jorge Vargas Jr. and Jason Vargas.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, April 26, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. Facial coverings are required. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, at 1:00pm, at the Mulder Chapel with Reverend Jose Pacheco presiding. After the service a funeral procession to honor Norbertos life and legacy will make its way from the funeral home to Pilgrim Home Cemetery for a graveside ceremony at 2:00pm.
