Life Story / Obituary

Miriam Snyder was reunited with M. Jack on April 1, 2021 after over 30 years of waiting. Her greatest wish has been fulfilled. Left to cherish memories of mom, mum-mum, are daughter Carol (Jim) Craighead of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; son Stephen (Sandra) of Holland, MI; grandsons Duncan, Columbus, OH; Andrew (Lisa), of Holland, MI; Theodore Craighead (Huntsville, Ontario, Canada) and Alan Craighead (deceased, widow Denise). Miriam will be greatly missed by great grandchildren Ryan, Leigh, Dana, Ellen, Madeline (Noah), Benjamin. Miriam was born April 26, 1921 in Columbus, Ohio and lived in Canal Winchester, Ohio with her father, E.C. Schwab and siblings Charles and Virginia. She also spent many happy years in German Village with her Grandparents Theodor and Magdelena Christmann. Miriam was a proud Buckeye and graduate of The Ohio State University. She and Jack travelled the world and avoided the cold Ohio winters; spending the month of February in the Caribbean sun. A fiercely independent, strong, opinionated woman, Miriam lived on her own for many years after Jack’s passing in 1990. She moved to Freedom Village in Holland, Michigan in 2013 and loved the water and natural beauty of West Michigan. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Marble Cliff, Ohio for over 50 years and then at First United Methodist Church, Holland. No services or visitations are scheduled.
