Mike Cooper, age 66 of Hamilton, peacefully passed away on February 11, 2021 at his home.

Mike believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and was born March 31, 1954 to Joe and Joanne Cooper in Hamilton, MI. He grew up in the Hamilton area and attended Hamilton Public Schools, from which he graduated in 1972. Mike took an adventure to Florida after graduation, where he lived and worked in Tarpon Springs for several years. He returned to the Holland area and worked in various manufacturing facilities before spending 20 plus years at Worden Company. Mike loved working with his hands, and was a craftsman at furniture making.

Besides his family; Mike had a deep passion for the outdoors. An avid bass fisherman, and accomplished deer hunter, he was most at home and in his element on a boat, or in a tree stand. Affectionately known as “Coop” or “Mikey”, he was incredibly humorous and quick witted. He loved spending time with THE BOYS, and honing their shooting skills with pellet rifles. Mike was proud of his country and very knowledgeable of American history. He is simply irreplaceable to the people who knew and loved him and will be deeply missed by all.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Joanne Cooper; brother Scott Cooper; and sister-in-law, Donna Cooper.

He is survived by his loving wife, Retta Cooper; daughter, Nicole (Brandon) DeBoe of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Jagger, Hendrix, Denver, and Lennon DeBoe all of Henderson, NV; siblings, Steve Cooper of IL, Pat Cooper of Holland, Laura Cooper of Holland, Clark Cooper of Hamilton, Sean (Amy) Cooper of Hamilton, Kyle (Lori) Cooper of Hamilton; in-laws, Darlene Kelch of Allegan, Lucille (Raymond) Ammeraal of Zeeland, David Trammell of Holland, Lena (Bud) Bradford of South Haven, Charlene (Steve) Wooten of Plainwell, Chris (Ruth) Blanton of Zeeland; best friend and co-conspirator, Doug (Patti) Koopman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 16 from 6-8pm at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 W 32nd Street in Holland. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 17 at 11am at New Vision Church, 277 Felch Street in Holland. Graveside service will take place following at Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
