Maureen A. (Cistaro) Grafton, 72, of Holland, MI, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, with family by her side at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1948, in Homewood, IL, the daughter of Michael and Marjorie (Napoli) Cistaro. On November 5, 1977, she married David Grafton in Calumet City, IL. Maureen had various jobs over the years, but the one she took pride in the most, was her role as matriarch of her family. She loved to bake and cook, and no one ever left the house on an empty stomach. Maureen loved to play the lottery, play bingo, and pull the handle on a slot machine or two. Her greatest love was for her family and her boxer dogs. There wasn’t a sacrifice she wouldn’t make to see them happy.

She is survived by her husband, David; five children, Alaina (Steve) Hale, Dominic Gruse, Michael (fiancée, Michelle Saylor), Jonathan (Stacie), and Christopher (Jennifer) Grafton; ten grandchildren; Brooke and Lauren Hale, Nathan and Griffen Gruse, and Peyton, Allison, Mason, Madison, Kinsley, and Henry Grafton; brother, Mark (Nancy) Cistaro; sister, Erica (David) Baarman; three sisters-in-law, Debra Cistaro, Kathleen Cistaro, and Marsha Cistaro; brother-in-law, Richard (Sue) Grafton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Marjorie; four brothers, Michael, Ralph, Martin, and Kevin Cistaro.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 117 West 13th Street, Holland, MI. The rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Burial to take place at Douglas Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to thank all the healthcare workers who have helped her on this difficult journey. A special thank you to Dr. Chambers at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.

Donations can be made in Maureen’s name to Spectrum Health Hospice.
