Mark J. Sterken

Mark Sterken, age 66, of West Olive, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark John Sterken announces his passing after a brief illness, Saturday April 19, 2025.

Mark was born in Zeeland, MI and graduated from Zeeland High School. He had a successful career in trucking. Working at Consolidated Freight, Louis Padnos and retiring from Seasonal Transportation. From truck driving to building houses to mechanics, he was a jack of all trades. He was a “CAN” man.

His many hobbies included riding his motorcycle, attending motorcycle rallies, going to car shows, being outdoors, hunting and most importantly spending time with family.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Cora Sterken, father-in-law Norman Walker, sister and brother-in-law Alynn and Glenn Boers and his sister-in-law Dawn Sterken. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Guylene Sterken along with their children, Alicia and Randy Tubergen (Tony), Melissa and Chad Walters (Matthew and Makiah), Ashleigh and Brandon Rogers (Logan, Zayden, Raena and Nova) and Samantha Sterken (Finley and Opal). Mark was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren and siblings, Greg Sterken Sr., Wilson Sterken Jr., Cheryl and Gary Bazan and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly.

A luncheon will be held at 14956 New Holland St. Holland, MI 49424 from 3pm-6pm. You will turn right onto Douglas Ave, then turn right onto 144th/N. Division Ave. Continue following 144th, then turn left onto New Holland St. House will be on the left-hand side.
