Maria De Jesus Trevino, age 91, of Holland, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Maria was born on December 14, 1930 in Harlingen, Texas. She was the third of five children. Maria came from a family of migrant workers and through that experience she became a woman of fortitude and strong work ethic. Maria brought her family to Holland in 1966 and raised her six beautiful children with the help of her sisters, and brothers in-law. Maria was a God fearing woman and passed her faith on to her children and grandchildren. She was a current member of Cornerstone Tabernacle in Holland where she attended with her granddaughter. She enjoyed thrift store shopping, walking to all of her destinations and riding the Max Bus. Maria also loved feeding her hummingbirds and enjoyed being in nature. She was loved by all that knew her and will truly be missed.

Maria was preceded in death by her mother, Leonor Araujo (2001); sisters, Felicitas Ortega (2004), Francisca (Emiliano) Castro (2004), Juanita (2005) & (Pablo) Guerrero (2014); daughter, Rosemarie Trevino (2006).

Mrs. Trevino is survived by brother, Mario G. Araujo and children, Delia (Kelly) Kranz, Martha (Adrian) Persenaire, Arturo (Araceli) Trevino, Esmeralda Trevino, Betty (Michael) Johnson; grandchildren, Natacia (Willy) Aviles, Matthew Trevino, Samantha Segovia, Ryan (Christine) Persenaire, Joshua Persenaire, Kobe Persenaire, Melissa (Josh) Oosterhouse, Donnie Gray, Anthony (Angela) Garcia, Lisette (Gilbert) Martinez, Aaron Trevino, Alec Trevino; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 20, from 11:00am to 1:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday May 21, at 11:30am, at Cornerstone Tabernacle, 781 Lincoln Avenue, Holland. Pastor Douglas Wright presiding. Graveside services and interment will be held in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Holland.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan.

Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of the Mulder Chapel.
