Margery Brooks Evans

EVANS, MARGERY BROOKS, 87, wife of Dr. Robert O. Evans, died Friday, April 11, 2008 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Holland, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Earnest C. Brooks and Margaret Walsh Brooks, graduated from Holland High School and attended the University of Chicago. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Holland as well as Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the vestry. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the University of Kentucky Woman's Club (past president), and the National Society of Arts and Letters, Kentucky Chapter. She loved music, traveled extensively, and lived in Finland, France, and Germany.

Survivors include daughter Michele (Bruce) Chosney, Indianapolis, IN, and son, Douglas Brooks Evans (Christine Sherley), Saudi Arabia; 5 grandchildren, Barbara Hathaway, Andrew Evans, Gabrielle Nabi, Brett Chosney and Craig Chosney; and 3 great-grandchildren, Douglas Evans, Nichelle Hathaway, and Kamillah Nabi. A son, Robert O. Evans, Jr., preceded her in death. Services 11 AM Friday at The Down Town Chapel Dykstra Life Story Funeral Home 29 east 9th street Holland, MI.
