Marcio Menezes

On Sunday, October 24, 2021, Márcio “Orelha” de Araújo Menezes, loving husband, father, stepfather, and friend passed away unexpectedly in his home at the age of 49. Márcio was born March 1st, 1972 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. On December 13, 2015 he married the love of his life, Lisa Yvonne Menezes.

Márcio spent his life travelling and leaving pieces of his soul all over the world. He was an avid surfer, snowboarder, and Ironman. But most of all, a lover of the ocean. He will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, infectious smile, and the way he loved so deeply. Márcio touched the lives of everyone he knew.

Márcio was preceded in death by his father, Paulo Cardoso de Menezes Filho and brother, Paulo. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his mother Maria Luiza, sisters Lenita, Tanya, Angela and brother in-law Roberto, nephew Mateus “Pepa”, son Makai, step children Holden, Phoebe and Daphne, granddaughter Athena, cousins Moema and Marcos Carvalho, fur babies Lucy and Puka, and many other nieces, nephews, friends and family.

An Open House is planned for Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 4-6 pm at The Southerner in Saugatuck, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Surfrider Foundation, or the Grief Centre of Western Australia.

No domingo, 24 de outubro de 2021, Márcio “Orelha” de Araújo Menezes, marido amoroso, pai, padrasto e amigo faleceu inesperadamente em sua casa aos 49 anos. Márcio nasceu em 1º de Março de 1972 em Salvador, Bahia, Brasil. Em 13 de Dezembro de 2015 ele se casou com o Amor de sua vida, Lisa Yvonne Menezes.

Márcio passou sua vida viajando e deixando pedaços de sua alma pelo mundo. Ele era um surfista ávido, snowboarder e Ironman. Mas acima de tudo, um amante do oceano. Ele será lembrado por seu raciocínio rápido, inteligência, sorriso contagiante e a maneira como ele amou profundamente. Márcio tocou a vida de todos que conhecia.

Márcio foi precedido da morte de seu pai, Paulo Cardoso de Menezes Filho e seu irmão Paulo. Ele deixa sua esposa Lisa, sua mãe Maria Luiza, irmãs Lenita, Tanya, Angela e cunhado Roberto, sobrinho Mateus “Pepa”, filho Makai, enteados Holden, Phoebe e Daphne, neta Athena, primos Moema e Marcos Carvalho, e muitas outras sobrinhas, sobrinhos, amigos e familiares.

Os serviços memoriais estão ainda indefinidos neste momento.

Ao invés de flores, as doações podem ser enviadas à Fundação Americana para Prevenção de Suicídio (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention), Fundação do Surfista (Surfrider Foundation) ou Centro de Luto da Austrália Ocidental (Grief Center of Western Australia).
