Mabel Banks

Mrs. Arthur (Mabel) Banks, 88, of Holland, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in an area care center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Holland and of the Holland Gem and Mineral Club. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Lubbers, in 2005. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Arthur; children, Arthur and Polly Banks of Grand Rapids, Selinda and Keith Berens of Hamilton, Gloria Lubbers of Hamilton, and Vaughn Banks of Holland; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Mrs. Eugene (Ellen) Dalman of Hastings, Bruce and Harriet Dekker of Holland; sister-in-law, Gertrude and Wendell Hurlbut of Gobles; nieces and nephews. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, 1066 E. Eighth St., with the Rev. Timothy Quinn officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church.
