Lynne “Kathy” Kathleen Oberlin age 76, of Holland, Michigan, passed away on May 31 in Holland, Michigan.

Kathy was born in Jackson, Michigan to Linton and Evelyn Wright on February 15, 1944. She was a graduate of Concord High School, Concord, Michigan. She received her Cosmetology License at Wright’s Beauty Academy in Battle Creek and completed 2 additional years of study at Kellogg Community College in physical therapy. She worked as a hair dresser for Ocine’s Beauty Shop for a number of years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and other similar crafts. She donated gloves, mittens, hats, and scarves to the Holland Rescue Mission and those who were less fortunate.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Gary Oberlin of Holland, daughter Lisa (Dylan) Greer of Lansing, daughter Holly (Kenneth) Cogswell of Nashville, Michigan, Kelly (Stephanie) Porter of Kalamazoo, MI, Sean (Teresa) Porter of Zeeland, MI, Shelly (Craig) Linsday of Excelsior, MN, Sara Oberlin of Champlin, MN, Gary Oberlin Junior of Battle Creek, and Tom (Trish) Oberlin of Kalamazoo, MI, brother Dennis (Beatrice) Herrick of Albuquerque,NM, 24 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael (Julia) Herrick, and parents Hiram and Evelyn Herrick.

Visitation on Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 am followed by funeral service at 11:00 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Holland with Fr Michael Cilibraise officiating. A celebration of her life will follow the funeral mass at Kathy’s home at 3748 142nd Avenue, Holland, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbor Humane Society of Holland, MI, and the American Heart Association.
