Lynn Thomas Betts

Lynn Mayer Thomas Betts, born January 30th, 1947, died October 16th, 2012.

Lynn Thomas Betts was granted her angel wings on October 16, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she touched through-out her memorable life. She was born in Chicago, Ill to Martin and Louise Mayer, and spent majority of her life in Douglas, MI until she moved to Holland, MI in 1999 where she remained until her death.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Louise Mayer, and her brother Phillip Mayer. She is survived by her husband Thomas Betts, her brothers: Victor Mayer, Carl Mayer and their spouses; her children Aimee Perry, Jennifer Taylor, Anthony Thomas, Matthew Betts and their spouses; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Her love of music was displayed by 50 years of service as the organist at First Congregational Church in Saugatuck, playing her first service on June 17, 1962 until her retirement in 2011: she also played at multiple venues and was known for her beautiful gift. Her most favorite time of playing was when she was with family and friends worshipping her Lord and Savior. She loved unconditionally and had a way of bringing a smile to everyone’s face.

A memorial service will be held at First Congregational Church in Saugatuck, MI, on Saturday October 20th, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
