Lucia Rocha

Lucia Silva Rocha, age 93, of Holland passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at her home.

For quiet time and relaxing, Lucia really enjoyed quilting.

Over the many years of faithfully following God, you could find Lucia in church teaching a Sunday School class or leading a worship.

She had an incredible gift of hospitality, whether that would be cooking, teaching, or helping people in whatever way she could.

Lucia passionately prayed for the hurting, her heart would long for people to see Christ and be healed or just relieved of their earthly burdens. She was a true prayer warrior.

The children would often say, “Mom, you are the best mom in the whole wide world”, and she would always respond, “I know”.

Lucia was preceded in death by her parents Enrique and Severa Silva, and her daughter Elizabeth Rocha.

She is survived by her children: Pete (Velma) Silva of Belle Chasse, LA, Ester (Brian) Sherman of Buras, LA, Alonzo Jr. (Sheryl) Rocha of Holland, Rita (Rene) Lopez of Holland, Lucy Lopez of Holland; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Henry (Doris) Silva, Freddy Silva, Lydia (Juan) Almaguer, David Silva, and Alex Silva; sister-in-law: Irma Silva; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Lakeshore Vineyard Church, 710 Central Avenue in Holland. Rev. Raul Garcia will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
