Lester Kaper age 92 of Holland died Friday, September 23, 2016 at Rest Haven Care Center.

Born in Holland, Lester served in the U.S. Army during WWll. He was involved in the invasion on Omaha Beach, Normandy as well as the Battle of The Bulge.

In 1947 he married Julia Lemmen and was employed at Haworth for over 25 years as a sample maker.

Lester was a longtime member of 6th Reformed Church serving on past consistories and most recently was a member of Calvary Reformed Church.

His wife Julie, preceded him in death in 2014 after 67 years of marriage.

A man of great faith and integrity, Lester had a love for his family and the outdoors.

He is survived by his children; Lloyd and Ellen Kaper of Hamilton, Sandra and Bob Bishop of Holland, grandchildren; Wendy Langeland, Stephanie Kaper-Dale, Bradley Bishop, Daniel Bishop, 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Marsha Stegenga, Midge Lemmen and Mildred Lemmen all of Holland as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday 1:00PM at Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd. St. with Rev. Ron Beyer officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Friends may call on the family Monday 6-8 at the chapel.

Memorial gifts may be given in Lester’s name to Alzheimers Association.
