Leona (Swieringa) Topp, age 93, of Grand Rapids MI passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus surrounded by her children.

The daughter of Henry and Lena (DePree) Swieringa, she was born on July 26, 1932, in Holland, MI. She began working at First National Bank when she was still in High School at 15 years old. She went on to many bookkeeping jobs over the years, while raising her family. Church, Music, and Art were all important parts of her life. She lived in various states through the years, while her husband, James Topp worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband James W. Topp, Ronald D. Topp, son-in-law Ryan R. Whaley, grandson Daniel S. Adams, and 8 siblings. Surviving her are her 4 remaining children, Barbara L. (Bruce) Adams, Michael J. (Cecelia) Topp, Patricia A. (Charles) Whitfield, Karen S. (Dean) Snyder; Grandchildren Russell R. Whaley, Curtis J. Whaley, Mason E. Snyder, Jillane R. Lefers, Lisa M. Fields, Kaely S. Lewis, Nicholas J. Whaley, 15 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-4:45 at Dykstra Funeral Home at 295 Douglas Ave, Holland MI. 49424 on Wednesday, November 12. The funeral service will follow.
