Leona M. Fortney, age 84, of Holland, passed away, Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Hospice of Holland, Hospice House.

She was a member of the Central Park Reformed Church and a former member of Bethel Reformed Church.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on January 6, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Jim and Doris Fortney of Zeeland, Mary and Del Ensing of Holland, and Mark and Diane Fortney of Jenison; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tracy and Dean Driesenga (Alec and Savana), Jon Fortney (Micah), Kristin and Jacob Woudwyk (Lukas and Ella), Sara Kuite (Hannah and Noah), Nick and Krystal Ensing (Hailey and Tyler), Josh Fortney, Jennifer Fortney, and Matthew Fortney; brother, John and Carol Nuismer of Holland; in-laws, Paul and Pat Fortney of Detroit, Ron and Betty Fortney of Holland, Norm and Barb Veldhuis of Holland, and Norma and Cal Hoort of Holland; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday at the Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, with the Rev. David Landegent officiating.

Burial will be in the Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 pm Monday at the chapel.

Memorials may be made Central Park Reformed Church or Hospice of Holland.

The Fortney family would like to thank the staff of Appledorn Living Center and Hospice of Holland for the care of their parents, Robert and Leona.
