Leona Angeline Glover

Leona Angeline Glover, age 91, of Holland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones Friday October 6, 2017. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on June 14, 1926. Leona was a fierce, feisty woman with a heart of gold. She knew no strangers and treated everyone she met with her East Tennessee hospitality and sincerity. Leona is a former member of Women of the Moose and was a long-time bartender at the Cove in Douglas, as well as, the Moose in Holland. She was firm, fair, hard-working, courageous, caring, loving, patient and fearless. Leona had a spirit that set many family and friends at ease, everyone called her Mom. Leona was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Govensky in August 2017. Mrs. Glover is survived by her children, William (Jean) Glover, Iola (John) Govensky, Patricia (Jake) Blevins, Janice (Don) Mobley, Betty (Moe) Hardin, Catherine (Ron) Lubbers, Jerry (Jill) Glover, Jeffery (Kim) Glover; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Wednesday October 11, at Gibson Church, 6486 140th Ave, Holland. Pastor Brent Pollema is officiating the ceremony. Visitation is one hour prior (12:00pm) at Gibson Church. Interment will take place at Gibson Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, MI 49423. The family was served by the Dykstra Funeral Home - Saugatuck Chapel.
