Kim Evon DeVries was born at Holland Hospital in Holland, MI on 12-8-1958. She passed away quietly in the early morning hours of Saturday 9-25-2021. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Douma (Talsma) and father, Byrn Douma.

She is survived by her sister, Lynn Kruithoff (Douma) - Bruce Kruithoff, her two sons, Joshua DeVries - Miranda DeVries (Rogers) and Andrew DeVries - Emily DeVries (Olson), and her four grandchildren Jensen, Bailey, Logan, and Declan DeVries.

She grew up in Holland Michigan and graduated from Holland High School in 1977. She then moved to Marquette, Michigan where she studied at Northern Michigan University to obtain her Bachelors of Certified Nursing degree four years later in 1981.

She moved back to Holland to begin her career as a nurse. On 3-23-1982 she had her oldest son Joshua, and on 9-1-1985, her youngest son Andrew was born.

She moved with her family to Munising Michigan in 1991 where she worked as a nurse while her two kids were growing up.

She loved to do adventurous things all the time. These things included taking rides through the woods, going snowmobiling, hiking to beautiful places like Pictured Rocks, tent trailer camping, renting vacation cabins for the weekend in Copper Harbor, taking her kids out to Colorado, and even becoming a Travel Nurse.

In 2008, Kim began her first travel nurse assignment in Colorado. She traveled with her special friend, Ken Mannisto, taking travel nurse assignments in Texas twice, Florida five times, Nevada, North Carolina, and Michigan. In 2012, Kim and Ken moved to Tucson, Arizona for her last assignment, and ended up falling in love with the climate and hospital. The hospital where she worked through 2020 was Northwest Medical Center.

During her many assignments, Kim and Ken enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. Each assignment was a new adventure.

Final Funeral arrangements are pending.
