Life Story / Obituary
Kenneth Dale Haverdink, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Hamilton, Michigan.
He was born July 27, 1935 in Holland, Michigan to Harold and Sena Haverdink. Ken served his country in the Army and was employed as a Ready Mix Driver for the Hamilton Block Company for over 50 years. He was a member of the Hamilton Reformed Church. Ken enjoyed his garden, working outdoors, spending time with their children and grandchildren and following all of their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl Haverdink and Paul Haverdink, in-laws, Lester and Margaret Veldheer, brother-in-law Rev. Russ Sybsema.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria (Veldheer) Haverdink; children: Shelly Raak and John Dreyer, Kevin and Laura Haverdink, Lon and Tracy Haverdink, Doug Haverdink and Melissa Gilbert; grandchildren: Danielle and David Weber, Taylor and Jake Heiss, Sidney and Cameron Wysocki, Jack Haverdink, Andrea Haverdink and Nicholas Priest, Amanda and Charles Billingsley, Savannah Haverdink; great grandchildren: Bryce Weber and two great grandsons on the way; siblings, Lois and Marvin Nienhuis, Larry and Sherri Haverdink, Diane and Garry Decker and in-laws: Elaine Sybsema and Lila and Gerbben Voetberg and Dale and Dee Veldheer.
The family wishes to thank Atrio, Spectrum Hospice and Hamilton Rescue for Ken’s excellent care.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40 in Hamilton. Pastor Ron Lugten will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice. To view slideshow from the visitation please click Here
