Keith Lawler

Keith L. Lawler, age 71, of Douglas, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at his home.

Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Lawler; Sister and Brother-in-law, Jeanne and David Marsac; a Stepdaughter, Kathy and Lenny Zelms; and 3 Grandchildren, Liz, Katie, and Matt Zelms.

During his lifetime, Keith was a Veteran of the US Coast Guard (1952-1956); A member of the Board of Directors of the Calhoun County Red Cross, the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce, and the Battle Creek JC’s. He was also a Charter Member of the Lakeview Lions Club, along with being a member of Wolverine Council of the National Management Association, and the Clark Management Club.

Throughout the years, he served his community in many capacities. From being the Police Commissioner for Battle Creek Township and a Township Trustee, to serving on many fund drive’s for Junior Achievement and the United Way.

Keith was very proud to serve as the dock master for Sergeant Marina in Saugatuck, which he later became the co-owner of.

He retired from Clark Equipment Company as plant controller after nearly 25 years of service.

At his request, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM at the Community Church of Douglas. Officiating will be the Dr. Daniel Miller.

Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 PM, Tuesday, at the Saugatuck Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 520 Lake St., Saugatuck.
