Kathleen Pathuis

Kathleen Pathuis, age 92, of Holland, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 4, 2014.

Kathleen was born to CT and Gertrude (Pierce) Vermurlen, February 1, 1922.

She graduated from Holland High School and later retired as a secretary to the Superintendent, for Holland Public Schools. Kathleen was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she was involved in the Alter Rosery Society. After retirement, she stayed active by assisting her children in their careers and business activities.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Fred in 1973, brother, Tom Vermurlen, and a great great granddaughter, Addyson.

Surviving are her children, Frederick and Mary Ann Pathuis, Kathleen and Robert Sanger, and Mary Ann Pathuis all of Holland; 4 grandchildren and spouses, 9 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; sister, Marguerite Tenninga; sister-in-law, Leona and Vern Houting; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be, 10 am, Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 195 West 13th Street, with Father Charles Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be 7-9 pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street.
